It’s hard to be living in the present time and not hear about the predicted 2012 pole shift. Doomsday theorists predict that this devastating geomagnetic reversal, or a shifting of the planet’s magnetic poles, will be cataclysmic. Many scientists say that this is a theory, but others swear it is going to happen. So let’s take a look at the evidence for a cataclysmic pole shift so you can develop your own opinion on the matter.

The 2012 pole shift theory says that the natural north and south poles inside the earth (rather than those geographic locations plotted on the map) will shift. This shifting has happened many times before in the planet’s history. Science has shown us that this flipping of the poles occurs about 4 times every million years, or approximately every 250,000 years. The fact is that the last pole shift didn’t occur in human history. The last known pole shift was 780,000 years ago, long before humans roamed the lands. So you can see that we are well overdue for a pole shift event.

Some scientists point to the fact that our ice caps at the poles are melting as evidence that the earth’s crust and mantle are moving in preparation for the 2012 pole shift. Scientists largely agree that the pole shift will cause radical changes on the planet, including deadly earthquakes, tidal wives and tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, typhoons, and more. When so many of these natural disasters occur in one short period of time around the earth, you can imagine the death and destruction that will take place. But this won’t be the end of it. With pole reversal, everything that relies on the magnetic poles will be thrown into upheaval – from migratory birds to our own technology like cell phones, TV, and internet. Even airplanes and ships, including those which transport our food and supplies from distant locations, will not function. The fact is that the earth gave little indication of such an event in the past, and it will surprise those who aren’t prepared for it when it happens again in 2012. The evidence is there for the 2012 event if you look for it. And the only way you will survive such a cataclysmic event, or a series of natural disasters, that are predicted for 2012 is to be prepared to fend yourself and live off the land.
